The United Kingdom Afghanistan Studies Group (UKASG) was formed in 2008 by a number of British-Afghan and non-British Afghan scholars and researchers in the UK. The UKASG is a non-profit organization that was set up with the aim of bringing together researchers, students, activists and practitioners working in/on Afghanistan to critically analyse the past and current issues facing Afghans.

The UKASG’s long-term objective is to become a formal research and policy institute to take a leadership role in Afghan-related research and publications in the UK and beyond.
